Rudolf Koivu – The Enchanting Illustrator exhibition at Valamo
A major exhibition showcasing the illustrative art of Rudolf Koivu (1890–1946) has opened at the Valamo Monastery Cultural Centre. It has been produced in collaboration with the Amer Cultural Foundation and the Tuusula Art Museum. The exhibition has been curated by cultural producer Liisa Heikkilä-Palo and exhibition curator Päivi Ahdeoja-Määttä.
In a child-friendly municipality, children’s voices are heard even before construction begins – the traffic park is being designed based on children’s wishes
Tuusula’s new traffic park is being built based on the children’s own wishes. In workshops held in March, children had the chance to design the future park’s features using Lego, drawing and brainstorming. The results provide designers with valuable insight into what kind of environment best serves children.

A section of the new Satakielenraitti is opening at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi
The first part of the outdoor trail built at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi will be opened to walkers today, April 2. The entire trail, named Satakielenraitti will be open in the fall after the bird nesting season ends.
The Finnish Defence Forces will be conducting exercises in Kellokoski on 7 April
The Defence Forces will be training in the Kellokoski area on Tuesday 7 April from 12 noon to 9 pm. The training may cause noise.

The Central Uusimaa Environmental Centre is seeking a new director to oversee the centre’s operations and its development across the region comprising five municipalities.
Filling of the swimming pools has begun
Work began today on filling the pools at Tuusula Swimming Pool in preparation for its opening. Final renovation work is still being carried out at the pool, and the opening ceremony is scheduled to take place in early June.
Temporary building in the school grounds at Lepola
Pupils at Lepola School will be provided with temporary premises in a temporary building to be rented in the school’s current grounds. The Education and Culture Committee discussed the matter at its meeting on 31 March 2026. The aim is for the premises to be ready for use at the start of 2027.

Mayor Janne Mellin will be meeting residents of Tuusula at a number of events this spring. Chief Executive Annaliisa Oksanen will also be present at some of these events. In addition, the mayor will be answering residents’ questions in a new video series.

The municipality of Tuusula held its first digital council for children and young people from 12 to 15 March 2026 as part of the next phase of the municipality’s participatory budgeting process.
