The Year of the Baby in Tuusula
Tuusula is a municipality for families with children. Last year was a boom year for births in Tuusula, with a total of 410 children born in the municipality. That figure is almost a fifth higher than the previous year. Last year, we visited the Sallinen family, who had recently welcomed a new addition. In the video, the family explains why they love living in Tuusula.
Tuusula is rewarding the successful Taitaja9 team with summer jobs
The municipality of Tuusula is offering summer jobs to the members of the A.L. Stop & Go team – the municipality’s best team to have reached the finals of the Taitaja9 competition – as a token of recognition. The three-member team’s journey in the competition will culminate in the final in May, which will be held in Tuusula as part of the national Taitaja2026 event.

Aunelan Kammari to be the name of the new community centre
The new drop-in centre, which takes place on Tuesdays, is called Aunelan Kammari. The name was chosen last week by a vote among visitors. Suggestions for the name were collected both via an online survey and in person during the first two weeks.
A survey of the street and road environment is being carried out in Tuusula
Photography of the streets and roads in Tuusula, commissioned by the municipality, will begin on Monday 13 April. The photographs will be taken from a vehicle with photographic equipment mounted on the roof. The photography work will continue until 10 May.
Aerial photography of the Eastern Railway line are set to begin
Aerial surveys of the proposed route for the Eastern Railway Line between the Helsinki metropolitan area and Kymenlaakso will be carried out in the coming weeks. The aircraft conducting the aerial surveys may attract people’s attention, as it will be flying relatively low, at an altitude of around 600 metres.
The Walkers car meets young people in Tuusula
The Walkers car will arrive in Tuusula on 10 April, following in the tyre tracks of its big sister, the Walkers bus. The project complements the municipality’s mobile youth work, in which youth workers meet young people wherever they happen to be. During the scheme, which runs until the end of the year, young people can also request the car to come to them, even for longer journeys.
Environmental surveys are being carried out on the eastern shore of Lake Tuusula
The Municipality of Tuusula will commission environmental surveys on the eastern shore of Lake Tuusula in the spring and summer of 2026. The surveys will be carried out by the consultancy and design firm FCG.
Suomi.fi messages to be used in official communications from Tuusula Municipality
The municipality of Tuusula will switch to using Suomi.fi messages as the primary method for delivering official communications from 14 April 2026. This change is based on a legislative amendment that requires public authorities to deliver official communications primarily via Suomi.fi messages.
