The opening ceremony will take place at Satakielenraitti on 19 August
The new Satakielenraitti trail, built in the countryside at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi, is now open along its entire length. The opening event, which is open to all, will offer an opportunity to explore the new nature trail and the area’s diverse birdlife. The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday 19 August from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm in Valkamanpuisto, near the junction of Kirkkotie and Koskenmäentie.
Children’s Museum Festival at the Tuusulanjärvi Museums on 22 August
This traditional event day is packed with cheerful atmosphere and fun activities for families with children at the museums around Lake Tuusulanjärvi on Saturday 22 August. Taking part are Ahola, Ainola, Halosenniemi, the Lotta Museum, Erkkola and Aleksis Kivi’s final home. Tuusula’s own mobile library, Kirre, will arrive at the Halosenniemi car park as usual. On the day of the event, admission to all the museums is free for children and the adults accompanying them. The museums are open from 10.00 to 17.00.

The autumn term is about to begin in Tuusula
In Tuusula, the new school year begins on Thursday 13 August 2026 at primary and secondary schools. The Tuusula School of Visual Arts and the Adult Education Centre will also start their term during August.

Part of the Satakielenraitti path, built at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi, has been closed in recent months to ensure undisturbed nesting for birds. From the start of August, the trail will be open along its entire length. The official opening ceremony will take place on 19 August.
The swimming pool’s opening hours have been extended
The Tuusula swimming pool will return to its normal opening hours on Monday 3 August. The pool has been open throughout the summer this year, which is unusual, but its opening hours have been more limited than usual.
