Museum

Come and raise a glass with us to celebrate spring and life! The Kellokoski Hospital Museum and its gallery Alitajuntaan will open the art exhibition "I have given birth to life and thought about death" on Saturday 17 May at 11 a.m. Toasts and the artist's reception will take place at 1.30 p.m., followed by an hour-long art-themed walking tour of the hospital grounds at 2 p.m.: a contemporary dance performance, Prinsessan kieltolakilaulu (The Princess's Prohibition Song), a rare piece by Venny Soldan-Brofeldt, psychedelic murals in the art stairwell, and the symbolism of Rauni Liukko's Prinsessa monument. We will be surrounded by the hospital's well-tended parks and magnificent architecture.

A serious strain of bird flu has been found in Tuusula in a barnacle goose.

Environment

A white-fronted goose found near the Rantamo-Seittelin wetland in Tuusula has been diagnosed with highly pathogenic avian influenza, a serious disease affecting birds. The bird was taken to a veterinarian in an injured condition and, after being euthanised, was sent to the Finnish Food Authority for examination. On 24 April 2025, the examination confirmed that the bird was carrying highly pathogenic avian influenza.
