Renovation of the swimming pool will begin in April

Swimming hall

The renovation of the Tuusula swimming pool will begin in April 2025. The renovation will continue until March 2026. With the renovation of the swimming pool, the municipality of Tuusula aims to repair all structural damage and prevent new damage from occurring. We will not be expanding the swimming pool for the time being, but will instead renovate the existing facilities and improve their usability.

Lecture on the Christian history of beer in Erkkola on 30 January.

Museum

Beer is one of our oldest alcoholic beverages. It has been used as medicine, nutrition and a substitute for water. What was beer like in the Middle Ages? What kinds of beers were brewed in monasteries? In a lecture by researcher Marja Tanhuanpää at the Erkkola Artists' Home on Thursday 30 January at 6 p.m., we will hear about beer as liquid bread, protected Trappist beers and Martin Luther's fondness for beer and his favourite beer. In the words of Martin Luther, "It is better to sit in a beer hall and think about the church than to sit in a church and think about beer."
